Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is such a sweet day in which we can all honor our mothers. My mother died in 1986 when I was 20 years old. I miss not being able to tell her Happy Mother's Day each year. This morning I came to a shocking realization that I have now lived more years without my mother than with her. I wonder how I have managed? She was such an important part of my life. I think with the grace of God, He has helped me through the times that I needed my mother. He is the one who sent people to be with me when I needed my mother the most.

My sister has been there for me countless times. I can not thank God enough for her and her love, support, advice, humor and her listening ear. She has seen me through many tough times.

My sister-in-law, Roxann, was also there for me countless times the first years of mom's absence. We are not as close as we were then, but I know that she would be here for me at the drop of a hat if I needed her.

God has provided me with an exceptional mother-in-law to help ease the pain of my mom not being her. Penny has shown me love and compassion in a way my mother would. She has been there for all the times that my children didn't have their Grandmother there for. She has graciously filled that void in their life and I am forever grateful for that.

There are so many people God has placed in my life to fill the gap that I truly am so blessed. So Happy Mother's Day to each and everyone of you!!

(The pictures are of pillows that I hand painted and handmade. They are just a sampling of some of my artwork which I have sold. Mom, if you were here, you'd have a gazillion of these!!)
